Next up on Let’s Talk Informatics – we will explore the phenomena of Normalization of Deviance.
We are pleased to welcome Nancy Connor and Dr. Susan Johnson from the Nova Scotia Health One Person One Experience team to explore Normalization of Deviance through the lens of the recent provincial Smart Pump implementation in Nova Scotia.
Normalization of Deviance is a term used to describe the gradual drift from standard policy and procedure that becomes “the way we do it here.” Attendees will learn why this happens and strategies educators and leaders can use to address these at-risk behaviours to find a way to ensure patients receive care or services aligned with best practices.
