Alberta & Northwest Territories

Alberta & Northwest Territories

Our Alberta & Northwest Territories (ABNT) chapter, one of eight in total, is an integral part of the CHIMA community.

This chapter meets semi-annually for community meetings that all our members are welcome to attend. At these meetings, there are opportunities to network, brainstorm ideas, and volunteer for various working groups to help advance the health information profession.

Meet the facilitator

Diana Chahine, BSc, CHIM

From a very young age, Diana has felt called to work within Canada’s health/medical field. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia and pivoted to the health information field afterward. In 2020, she obtained her health information management diploma, successfully passed the Certified in Health Information Management (CHIM) national certification examination (NCE), and has since enjoyed working as a health information practitioner/medical coder within the Interior Health Authority in BC and the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Diana values all the experiences and connections she has made thus far and is very excited to join the CHIMA team as the community facilitator for the BCYT & ABNT chapters. She looks forward to learning from and working with her fellow CHIMA members as they fulfill CHIMA’s mission.
