Meet With A Recruiter – Virtual Career Fair

Join us March 8, 2022 from 09:00 to 16:00 PST. for our Spring Virtual Career Fair!

We are offering one-to-one sessions with our hiring managers for Environmental Public Health positions. We have numerous opportunities available for Environmental Health Officers in our Environmental Health and Drinking Water programs, across Interior Health.

If you have a certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada) and are registered or eligible to be registered with the Board of Registration of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors BC Branch, register today to speak with a manager about employment opportunities! Graduating Environmental Health students from accredited schools will also be considered.

Environmental Health roles include inspection and enforcement duties on various food, recreational water, personal service and similar facilities; investigating complaints and performing investigations on potential health hazards; responding to emergencies related to outbreaks, disasters; working with local and provincial governments on common projects, referrals and other interests to maintain & improve public health.

Drinking Water program roles focus on working with water system owners to ensure the delivery of safe drinking water. The EHO uses a variety of professional and technical skills; enforces applicable health legislation, policies and standards; conducts inspections and risk assessments; identifies factors detrimental to community and environmental health; reduces the incidence of communicable disease, performs technical assessments; provides consultative and education services and ensures that community development does not conflict with a healthy environment.

Room to Grow: There are numerous opportunities to grow into other roles. We encourage internal career development and advancement. Various allied programs including healthy built environment, environmental assessment, emergency management, communicable disease response, tobacco and vapour control programs, and supervisory roles all include Environmental Health trained staff.

Qualifications:
