Kim Durofil became an educator at George Brown College in 2002 and moved into the role of program coordinator for the Health Information Management (HIM) program in 2012. She worked in the hospital environment specializing in coding, abstracting, and data analysis for more than 20 years.

Durofil loves sharing her knowledge and skills learned in the HIM field. Particularly, she enjoys developing challenging case scenarios for students based on a blend of work experiences, literature, and popular culture. As a professional educator, Durofil remains a perpetual learner by completing online workshops, developing new curricula, and fulfilling part-time contracts.
