In this education session you will learn many valuable lessons from someone who has used mentorship extensively throughout her career. You will learn about mentorship, as well as the roles and skills of the mentor and mentee. You’ll learn about different modes of listening and why some mentorship situations succeed, while others fail. If you want to learn how to be an active listener and improve your ability to share your knowledge, this session will help you achieve that outcome.

Facilitator: Eileen Oleski
Eileen is a retired, certified HIM professional. During her career, she held such positions as a coder, data analyst, manager, and consultant. Her final 11 years were spent as an educator and the HIM Program Coordinator at Red River College in Winnipeg, where she feels she was able to provide the most mentoring of her career.
She feels it is an honour to continue to give back to the HIM profession by facilitating this session, and hopes that you come away having learned something new about becoming a mentor or enhanced your approach to mentoring.
