Description of Job: 

A Population Health Analyst coordinates the functions supporting population health data and analytics needs for clinical, operational, and administrative staff. The Analyst will work closely with business requirements leaders, informatics and analytics teams, and other staff to translate population health problems and insight requirements into analyses, models, visualizations and reports. 

Job Duties: 

  • Assist with tracking and trending of operational, financial, and quality metrics including performance metrics, population and network utilization, and care coordination activities
  • Develop database queries, reports, and presentations for use by administration
  • Coordinate statistical interpretation of data
  • Prepare and interpret data and enumerate assumptions or caveats
  • Use available databases to analyze and benchmark criteria against organization and peers to assist in quality improvement activities
  • Develop and generate reports, visualizations and presentations

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; Master’s Degree is preferred
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working with healthcare data including billing, insurance claims, and ambulatory care
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working with analytical and scripting software and languages including R, Python, SSPS, SAS
  • CHIM certification is an asset
