0223 The role of ethics in and for the health information profession

Ethical issues are commonly encountered by those involved in the collection, analysis, sharing, and use of health data. However, unlike other health care professions (e.g., medicine, nursing), educational offerings, tools, and discussions regarding ethical issues and how to navigate them are less common in the health information profession. This ‘ask me anything’ event is a first step to introduce work being conducted to elevate ethics at The Canadian College of Health Information Management and engage CHIMA members at the outset of this process.
