Eric Sutherland brings numerous years of experience in data management, governance and strategy, in both the public and private sectors. His work at the Canadian Institute for Health Information has been to engage with health organizations across the country to determine how to get better sustained value from provincial, territorial, and Canada’s health data assets.
While with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, he provided strategic leadership in developing a health system information management strategy. This included enabling trusted information through data standards, quality and stewardship; improving privacy-enabled access through education, processes and legislation; and creating insights that drive action to enable positive health outcomes by leveraging leading analytical methodologies. Other experience includes business, technology, and information leadership positions at TD Bank across finance, risk and treasury for over 20 years, and has recently joined the CorHealth board of directors.
