Deferral: A deferral is a request to write your exam at a future date. A candidate may defer their application to a future sitting of the NCE. The applicant is required to notify the exam team through a deferral request at least 10 business days before the exam sitting. An application can only be deferred a total of three times.

Withdrawal: A withdrawal is a request to remove your application from consideration. The request to withdraw from an examination must be received in writing by the deadlines stated below. A refund of 100% of the examination fee will be provided. No refund will be provided past these deadlines. You will be required to apply again if you wish to write the NCE in the future.

Please note, that the exam team will take into consideration late deferrals for emergencies outside of the applicant’s control.
