Master of Health Administration & Major in Health Informatics and Information Management
The online Master of Health Administration, with a major in Health Informatics and Information Management (MHA-HIIM), was created to address the demand for advanced education in the management of health information in Canada. It was designed with leadership in mind and captures the interdisciplinary and convergent practices in the Health Informatics (HI) and the Health Information Management (HIM) professions. Key learnings target areas where there are most industry demand and expected future growth, such as business intelligence and analytics, information policy and standards, and information and systems governance.
Students enrolled in the program are required to complete seven core courses, two elective courses and two in-person residencies (although these may temporarily be delivered online due to COVID-19).
Graduates of the MHA-HIIM program will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to support the development and implementation of policies and systems for the management, quality, availability, and use of health system information. They will also be prepared to work in domains spanning business intelligence and sustainability, data quality and information management, health information analytics and research, data and information governance policy and standards, information technology, organization and behavioural management, and privacy and security.
