Making connections to improve privacy awareness

May 4, 2022 @ 3:00 pm 4:00 pm EDT

Let’s network with one another to build our skills and improve privacy awareness. This is an interactive session to get you thinking about:

  1. The ways you personally contribute to protecting a person’s health story; and
  2. Skills you are looking to develop

We will walk you through an introduction to the session and then break out into rooms facilitated by our CHIMA chapter volunteers. Maybe you’re looking to learn more about privacy legislation, understand confidentiality, or learn to develop policies around releasing information —our goal is to see if there are people in the audience who can help point you in the right direction.

Come prepared to fill in these two blanks:

  1. I adhere to privacy principles by _____________.
  2. To expand my skills, I am looking for __________.

Here’s an example:

I adhere to privacy principles by only accessing records that pertain directly to my job. To expand my skills, I’d like to become more familiar with legislation governing the handling of personal health information.  Is there anyone on the line that would be able to point me in the right direction?

We encourage sharing your LinkedIn profile in the chat during this event too. See you there!
