CDI focuses on improving the accuracy and clarity of health records across the health care spectrum. Effective CDI programs and initiatives not only help ensure consistency in clinical documentation, but also support appropriate funding decisions, more complete and specific documentation, and overall improvements in the quality of health care services. This PPB explores the concept and benefits of CDI, as well as the role of HIM professionals in the implementation and maintenance of a CDI program.
