Marlene Raasok

Marlene Raasok, BScPharm, MHSA (Director) – BC
 

Recently retired, Marlene now resides in Alberta. Prior to that, Marlene Raasok has a 15 year career as a leader in post-secondary education for health and community services, most recently as Executive Dean for the School of Health & Life Sciences and Community Services at Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario since 2006. Prior to this, she was Dean, Health & Public Safety at SAIT in Calgary (with their Health Information Management Diploma) and prior to that had over 20 years administrative experience in government and health care organizations in Alberta. Marlene has a particular interest in e-practice for students to enhance their capability to use electronic information effectively to improve practice. This is an area of scholarly endeavor at Conestoga, stemming from a unique mix of 27 health and community service programs including Canada’s only Bachelor of Applied Health Information Science (accredited by CHIMA in September 2014).


Marlene has a BSc in Pharmacy and a Masters in Health Services Administration from the University of Alberta. She received a Women of Distinction Award in Science and Technology from the Cambridge YWCA in 2013 in recognition of leadership for development and partnerships that have grown the School at Conestoga and created a vision and energy for the school as a preferred educator focused on preferred graduates.
